Destilus Inc. ("Destilus," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Destilus platform — a technology marketplace that connects homeowners with independent licensed plumbers. Our platform is accessible at destilus.com and through associated mobile applications.

Destilus is a technology platform only. We are not a licensed plumbing contractor, insurer, employer, or financial institution. All plumbers on our platform are independent contractors.

Information you provide directly:

• Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), phone number
• Address and ZIP code for service matching
• Photos and videos you upload for AI diagnosis
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
• Plumber license numbers, insurance details, and business information
• Messages and communications sent through the platform
• Support requests and correspondence

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, browser type, operating system
• IP address and approximate location
• Pages visited, features used, time spent on platform
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see our Cookie Policy)

We share your data with the following third-party services to operate the platform. By using Destilus, you consent to this sharing:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.

• Creating and managing your account
• Matching homeowners with available licensed plumbers
• Processing AI photo diagnosis of plumbing issues
• Processing payments and managing escrow
• Sending job updates, confirmations, and receipts
• Verifying plumber licenses and insurance
• Providing customer support
• Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and safety violations
• Improving our platform and AI diagnosis accuracy
• Complying with legal obligations

When you upload photos or videos for AI diagnosis, this content is processed by our AI system to identify plumbing issues. Please be aware:

• Upload only photos/videos of plumbing fixtures and areas — do not include people's faces
• Do not include personally identifiable information in uploaded media
• Photos are shared with your matched plumber so they can assess the job
• The platform owner and staff may review photos for quality assurance and dispute resolution
• We do not publish or publicly display your photos without consent

• Account data: retained while your account is active and for 7 years after deletion (tax/legal requirements)
• Job records: retained for 7 years (financial record-keeping)
• Photos/videos: retained for 2 years after job completion
• Support messages: retained for 3 years
• Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by law

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting privacy@destilus.com. Some data may be retained longer where required by law or legitimate business interests.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Right to know what personal data we hold about you
• Right to correct inaccurate personal data
• Right to delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Right to opt out of certain data sharing

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• All data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
• Row-level security — each user can only access their own data
• Payment data handled exclusively by Stripe — we never store card numbers
• Regular security reviews and access controls

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact security@destilus.com immediately.

Destilus is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact privacy@destilus.com and we will delete it immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
