Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 4, 2026

Destilus is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Our commitment

We believe that every homeowner and plumbing professional β€” regardless of ability β€” deserves equal access to our platform. Accessibility is not an afterthought at Destilus; it’s built into our design and development process from the start.

Measures we’ve taken

  • Keyboard navigation: Every interactive element on Destilus β€” buttons, links, form fields, modals, and the AI chat widget β€” is fully operable with a keyboard alone.
  • Screen reader support: We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and live regions so screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) can accurately describe the interface and announce dynamic updates.
  • Minimum touch target size: All tap targets are at least 44Γ—44 pixels, following Apple and Google accessibility guidelines.
  • Color contrast: Text and UI elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
  • No reliance on color alone: Status indicators (job progress, alerts, errors) use both color and icons or text labels.
  • Responsive design: The platform works at zoom levels up to 400% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Voice input support: Our AI triage tool accepts voice transcription for users who cannot type descriptions of their plumbing issue.
  • Reduced motion: We respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query β€” animations are disabled for users who prefer it.
  • Alt text: All informational images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.

Known limitations

We are actively working to resolve the following known gaps:

  • The real-time Mapbox GPS tracking map has limited screen reader support for live location updates. A text-based ETA alternative is displayed alongside the map.
  • Some third-party payment forms (Stripe) may have their own accessibility characteristics outside our direct control.

Feedback and contact

If you experience any accessibility barrier on Destilus β€” or if you need content in an alternative format β€” please contact us:

Email: accessibility@destilus.com

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 2 business days and to resolve reported barriers within 30 days.

Technical specifications

Destilus is built with the following technologies that support accessibility:

  • Semantic HTML5
  • WAI-ARIA 1.2 attributes where native HTML semantics are insufficient
  • CSS that respects user preferences (prefers-reduced-motion, prefers-color-scheme)
  • Next.js with server-side rendering for fast, content-first page loads

Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may contact the relevant national accessibility authority in your country. In the United States, this is the U.S. Access Board at access-board.gov.
